Born and raised in the Cleveland area, Mary Beth credits her upbringing in developing her sense of passion in helping the less fortunate. By relying on her compassion and empathy, Mary Beth has always felt “in-tune” with the feelings of others.  In recognizing how difficult the decision to seek therapy can be, Mary Beth aims to ease client’s by providing a comfortable, relaxing environment, and developing open and honest communication with them.

”The most important part is developing the trust in the therapeutic relationship.  This opens the door to breaking down walls and being able to gently challenge the client for future change to occur.  I also believe strongly in self-determination, allowing a client to choose what and when they are ready to change.”

Utilizing an eclectic approach to counseling, which is rooted in trauma-focused, strength-based, holistic, cognitive behavioral and dialectic behavioral therapeutic styles, Mary Beth strives to help clients improve holistically for optimal quality of life by understanding the connection of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Her therapeutic interventions, which range from psychoeducation, to thought challenging/restructuring, as well as mindfulness/relaxation techniques, are tailored to her client’s own unique needs, strengths, and personality type.

With over 15 years’ experience working in community mental health in a variety of settings, Mary Beth has seen individuals of all ages, families, and groups experiencing anything from trauma to severe persistent mental illnesses. Mary Beth’s goals is to assist clients in navigating their difficult life experiences, intense emotions, and/or recognizing their own unmet needs, Mary Beth evokes positive change and growth by teaching client’s healthy ways of expressing their thoughts and feelings and educating clients on the importance of nourishing their body and mind through living a healthy lifestyle.
