Jennifer DiGiandomenico, PC | Licensed Professional Counselor
Transitioning to the mental health counseling field from the non-profit sector has been very natural for Jennifer, especially given her years of work serving at-risk children and families. Jennifer has also provided individual and group counseling to adult veterans through the Cleveland VA Medical Center’s inpatient treatment programs, with diagnoses ranging from substance use/dependence, to problem gambling and PTSD. She also has experience working with college-age students presenting with a wide range of issues, through her work at Cleveland State University’s Counseling and Academic Success Clinic.
Jennifer's view of counseling is rooted in the belief that working towards a healthy balanced life often requires a shift in both perspective and choice. Jennifer understands the difficulty for individuals in seeing the forest through the trees. She recognizes that a second set of eyes can help clients unlock their strengths and craft new meaning from their journey.
“When we are brave enough to look inward, and connect with ourselves openly and honestly, we may begin to uncover if our behaviors reflect what we truly value in life. Change happens when we align with our goals and inner purpose and put the work in.”
Thriving on the establishment of natural connections with her clients, as well as her desire to assist them in navigating the nuances of everyday life, Jennifer empathically understands how previous life experiences shape who we are and how we interact with the world. Viewing all individuals as the experts of their own lives, Jennifer utilizes an eclectic approach to counseling, integrating a variety of techniques best suited for each client. Her authentic and down-to-earth style provides a space where communication with clients, is comfortable and safe, yet deep and meaningful.
