Through working with a highly diverse population in a community counseling setting, as well as working with students from elementary age to college in a school setting, Bekah has acquired a wide a variety of counseling skills and techniques that she utilizes in her sessions. Her background is working with dual diagnoses, including substance abuse and personality disorders.
Relying on her down-to-earth personality and genuine interest in her clients, Bekah believes that developing a relationship rooted in trust and honesty is the most important aspect of the counseling process. Bekah not only utilizes motivational interviewing and a person-centered approach with her client’s, but also transparency and humor. As such, Bekah believes her ability to connect with others is perhaps her strongest asset as a counselor.
“My goal is to empower my client’s in reaching their fullest potential. By assisting them in defining their goals, I strive to support them on their journey and assist in guiding them to live a more fulfilled and authentic life.”
Both by listening to her clients with an open mind, as well as assisting in developing a genuine understanding of themselves, Bekah believes in building on her client’s current strengths as well as learning new skills that fit their needs. Bekah utilizes a variety of techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral (DBT), and Cognitive Processing (CPT), to find the best therapeutic approach. By providing services and support to her client’s, Bekah believes therapy can ultimately lead them to a total life transformation.
